About Game Changer

The Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International, has partnered with Dwyane Wade and Wade’s World Foundation, to launch Game Changer – an integrated sports program to benefit youth in underserved communities in South Florida and the Caribbean.

Through a three-year iconic relationship, both non-profit organizations will work closely together to help raise needed funding to provide underprivileged youth with access to planned sports, recreation, healthy lifestyles and family engagement. The program will also provide upgrading and refurbishing of 11 sports courts in the Caribbean and Miami, FL, plus afternoon training and coaching sessions, sports equipment and apparel, and mentoring.

Game Changer Makes a Difference!

It has been proven that young people who engage in sports display an attitude of teamwork and character, which demonstrates discipline, leadership, respect and self-confidence. In fact, a survey by the Physical Education for Life and the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association shows that 93% of parents said youth sports promoted personal growth and 84% said organized athletics nurtured good moral behavior.

Game Changer aims to build partnerships in local communities between youth groups, schools and NGOs. Additionally, the provision of enhanced youth recreation opportunities will go a long way in improving both physical and social conditions within the identified areas.
